Judges for Intelligent Hospital Awards Announced
NEW YORK, December 27, 2012 — The RFID in Healthcare Consortium (RHCC) and Intelligent Hospital.org (IH) announced today that judges for the first annual Intelligent Hospital Awards have been chosen. They are as follows: University of California-San Francisco professor Donna Hudson, Georgia Tech Institute professor Gisele Bennet, University of Wisconsin distinguished researcher Alfonso Gutierrez, and journalist and editor-in-chief RFID 24-7 John Johnson. The RFID in Healthcare Consortium (RHCC) Awards were established in 2012 to recognize the use of technologies in healthcare in providing for the betterment of patient safety, supply chain and asset management.

Presented to:
An individual, an organization, or a team of individuals. Eligible healthcare systems will employ any of the following technologies:

Award Categories and Scope:
a. Improving the Patient Experience: Care and Safety. For outstanding contributions and/or innovations that improve the patient experience and safety.
b. Most Innovative Use Case. For the best example of innovative use of technology in a healthcare facility.
c. Improving Regulatory Compliance. For outstanding contributions and/or innovations within the field of healthcare that makes regulatory compliance easier to administer.
d. Best Comprehensive Integration. For effectively integrating technologies seamlessly to provide a comprehensive solution in a healthcare facility
e. Of the four awards given, one will be chosen to receive the 2013 RHCC Intelligent Hospital Grand Award.
Prize:
The award consists of a trophy and travel support to receive the award at HIMSS13 in New Orleans (LA) 3-7 March.
Basis For Judging:
In the evaluation process, the following criteria are considered: impact on healthcare; improvement in the patient experience; succession of significant technical or other contributions; leadership in accomplishing worthwhile goal(s) such as an organization’s performance; previous honors; and other achievements as evidenced by publications (including a video or website link), patents or other evidence; quality of nomination. The solution addresses industry challenges. The results of the solution are documented. Permission has been granted and the application content is certified by the appropriate officer(s) of the entry’s organization
Nominators:
Except for RHCC Board of Directors and staff, any person may nominate a candidate for an RHCC/IH award. Contact information must be included with the nomination.
Nomination Form:
Entries must include the completed RHCC IH Award Nomination Form (PDF) or RHCC IH Award Nomination Form (Word .doc) and be submitted electronically by the deadline.
Deadline:
Nominations must be completed and submitted electronically in one pdf package by midnight ET,
January 7th, 2013.

Notification:
On 21 January 2013, the award recipients are notified and invited to receive their awards at the HIMSS13 Conference and Exhibition in New Orleans. The nominators are copied on these notifications.
For those submitting a video as part of the nominating entry:
1. Indicate that RHCC and Intelligent Hospital™ have the right to use the video for public use.
2. Upload your video to YouTube at www.youtube.com, and include the link in the PDF package emailed to awards@intelligenthospital.org no later than midnight ET, January 7th, 2013. Please include your completed nomination form.
